Coming Up

The lamps are going out all over Europe, we shall not see them lit again in our lifetime.

Sir Edward Grey, Foreign Secretary, uttered these words on the eve of Britain officially entered the First World War. Exactly 100 years later the Royal British Legion are inviting us to join together in a national moment of reflection.

The village is coming together to
commemorate the outbreak of
World War I, we are holding a procession and candlelit vigil.

The procession to St Giles’ will start at the Village Centre.  Following the
short Memorial Compline service transport will be provided back to
the village.
