Hello out there
We are recording two online services each week, which you can find here. Join us at 10.30am on Sundays, 11am Wednesdays or catch up later.
In line with the Church of England's statement on 23rd March,
both churches are now closed for services and visitors until further notice.
No weddings or baptisms can be conducted.
Please contact us regarding funerals or rearranging your existing wedding plans.
The rest of this page is our "normal" information:
Something for everyone
We offer a variety of services and groups during the week. From quiet and contemplative to family fun; modern worship to traditional ceremony, there's something for everyone. Below is our general pattern but please check the Home Page for this week's services, especially if you are looking for a particular style of service.
Aim to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to start.
You can see a map to both churches on our contact us page.
9am Holy Communion (1st & 2nd Sundays) or Morning Prayer (3rd, 4th & 5th Sundays) at St Giles' Church
This is a quiet, traditional service, following the appropriate service booklet from Common Worship (a modern version of the Book of Common Prayer), with organ and choir-led hymns from a book.
10.45am All age service (1st Sunday), Family Service (2nd & 4th Sundays) or Family Communion (3rd Sundays) at St Andrew's Church, Main Hall
With a mixture of live and recorded modern worship music, we like to raise the roof at St Andrew's! We use liturgy from Common Worship for Family Services and Communions, following the words on a big screen. For All-age services, we have an eclectic mixture of activities and words to express ourselves in praise, confession, prayer for others, understanding more about God and how we can get to know Him better. Arrive at 10.30am for tea and coffee - the service kicks off at 10.45.
6.30pm Evensong (2nd & 3rd Sundays) or Evensong Communion (4th Sundays) at St Giles' Church
Please note there is no evening service on the 1st Sunday of the month.
An organ and choir-led service of Evening Prayer, Evensong or Evensong Communion from Common Worship.
Special Services 10.30am at St Giles' Church
Watch out for these special occasions on our Home Page or sign up for our weekly email newsletter! For Mothering Sunday, Easter Sunday, our annual Family Barbecue, Harvest, Remembrance and Christmas, we all pile down to St Giles', where a warm welcome awaits. Both of our congregations are often joined by Scouts, Guides, local school children, representatives of the Parish Council and other community groups to celebrate or commemorate the occasion in style. We love to honour tradition as well as bring new life to each season.
11.00am Midweek Communion at St Andrew's Church, Chapel
Mostly spoken word with some music during a time of reflection, following Common Worship liturgy. Soup is served afterwards (about midday) in the Coffee Shop. All are welcome to attend the service or for soup, or both!
What should I expect when I visit the church?
You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Sidesmen/Welcome Team who will be at the door to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. Even if you are a bit late, don't be shy - we'll make sure you are settled in!
Tea, coffee and biscuits are served before St Andrew's services and after St Giles' services where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.
